How much does it cost to build a swimming pool in Dubai? The price depends on the pool’s size, depth, design, construction requirements and finishing materials.

For a typical residential project, swimming pool costs can range from AED 55,000 for a small pool to AED 360,000 for a large villa pool. These are indicative estimates, and the final quotation will depend on the work required at your property.

The difference between those figures isn’t just the size of the pool. Excavation, the concrete structure, waterproofing, tiles, filtration equipment and the space available to work in all affect the quotation. As for comparing swimming pool quotes in Dubai, here is what you should look at before you decide which one is right for your villa.

Swimming Pool Cost in Dubai

Pool type Typical size Price in AED Best for
Small residential pool Around 15–20 sqm AED 55,000–80,000 Compact villa gardens
Standard villa pool Around 25–40 sqm AED 80,000–130,000 Family villas
Large villa pool 40+ sqm AED 130,000–360,000 Larger plots and custom designs

The sizes above are examples for budgeting, not fixed specifications for these prices. Your quotation will depend on the design, depth, construction requirements and what is included in the work.

Small Residential Pool: AED 55,000–80,000

A small pool can be enough if you want somewhere to cool off without giving up most of your garden. A simple rectangular design also leaves more space for paving, seating, or plants around the pool.

Take a compact 5m × 3m pool as an example. Before we finalize the price we will look at the available work space, excavation approach, pool depth and the equipment required for the pool. Also the quote should include the structural work, waterproofing, internal finish and installation which will be covered.

Standard Villa Pool: AED 80,000–130,000

For a family villa, a pool around 8m × 4m may offer a useful balance between swimming space and the rest of the garden. You’ll still want to leave enough room to walk around the pool, place outdoor furniture and access the house comfortably.

At this budget, the exact specification matters. Compare the pool structure, waterproofing, finish, pump, filter, lighting and installation work listed in each quote. Don’t assume two contractors are offering the same package simply because their pool dimensions match.

When we review a project, we also look at how the pool will sit within the outdoor layout. That helps avoid treating the pool, paving and landscaping as unrelated jobs.

Large Villa Pool: AED 130,000–360,000

A large pool project is not just a matter of digging a bigger hole. We also see great value in extra depth, custom shapes, infinity edges, specialist finishes and larger filtration systems which we include.

For instance, a 10m × 5m pool may suit a spacious villa plot, but the pool itself is only part of the plan. We will also have to look at the deck, drainage, equipment location and access for construction. If the pool is near to other buildings on the site also some extra checks may be required.

At this budget level request a detailed breakdown first. A lower total isn’t necessarily better if important items are excluded and appear later as additional costs.

What Can Change the Price?

A few decisions can make a noticeable difference to the cost:

  • Size and depth: A bigger and deeper pool requires more excavation and structural materials.
  • Construction method: Concrete and fibreglass pools have different installation processes and design options.
  • Pool shape: An infinity edge or unusual shape may need additional structural and hydraulic work.
  • Access and excavation: Access restrictions or difficult ground conditions can affect how the work is carried out.
  • Internal finish: Standard tiles, mosaic and pebble finishes have different material and installation costs.
  • Cooling and heating: These systems add equipment costs and can increase electricity use.
  • Lighting and automation: Extra lights and automated controls need to be included in the equipment budget.
  • Approvals: Confirm which Dubai Municipality or community approvals apply and who is responsible for arranging them.
